Women Composer Competition

Composition Specifications: Piece 3 to 8 min. for women or children's voices; accompanied or not.

Postmark Deadline: November 15, 2007

Entrance fee: $35 per work submitted.

Materials Required: Copy of full score (no parts yet please) and tape (if available) with composer biography and list of works. For return of materials, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope or materials will be kept in the NYTS archives.

Several composers will be chosen from the entries to attend a Composer’s Workshop at which time New York Treble Singers will sight read the work and spend 1 hour with the composer to sing and discuss it.

First prize:$200 cash award; New York performance of winning composition by the NYTS; recording of performance by NYTS on DAT tape or CD.

Second Prize: $100 cash award; New York perfomance of winning composition by the NYTS; recording of performance by NYTS on DAT tape or CD.

The Composer’s Workshop date and tuition will be announced at a later time.
